Your Own Morocco. Along The Ocean From Marrakech: Three Days of Happiness

Marrakech - El Jadida - Oualidia - Safi - Essaouira - Marrakech. The perfect tour for the whole family
PRIVATE TOUR
Imagine the ocean crashing against the cliffs at the foot of historic Portuguese forts, breathtaking sunrises and sunsets over the Atlantic with a glass of local wine, quiet lagoons and fishing villages, oyster farms and street artist performances. All that and so much more is waiting for you on this trip. There's no better way to escape the hustle and bustle, recover after months of hard work, and remember how joyful we can be. Most of this route goes through places where tourists who are always in a hurry don't have time to go. That means we'll experience what local life is like, the food will be tastier, discoveries will be a hundred times more exciting, and any meetings and encounters will be more authentic. No one will be luring us into souvenir shops, and bypassers will smile at us just because we're all charming people and life is, by and large, beautiful!

Throughout the trip, we will tell you about the ancient history of this beautiful country, the phenomena of piracy and the slave trade, the culture and traditions of the people we will meet along the way, the fascinating ocean fauna and much, much more.

And if you enjoy photography, then you must definitely go. In addition to picturesque forts and majestic views, you'll have a wonderful opportunity to take pictures of the locals. The locals are very enthusiastic about it, and they'll be happy to pose for you.

Day 1.
Marrakech - El Jadida - Oualidia.
210 km, 3 hours + 80 km, 1.5 hours

We'll depart from Marrakech early in the morning to ensure we don't miss a single moment of this beautiful day and head towards the ocean. We'll climb the walls of a 16th-century Portuguese fortress and get lost in the narrow alleyways of the old city, descend into the underground cisterns, visit the Jewish district and walk around the most picturesque port in Morocco. Afterwards, we'll enjoy a lavish lunch of freshly caught fish, oysters, crabs, octopus, sea urchins, and whatever your heart desires. After lunch, we will head along the ocean to one of the most enchanting destinations on the Atlantic coast. Oualidia is a series of tranquil lagoons, islands, fantastic scenery of salt marshes and dunes, abundant migratory birds, gorgeous beaches and oyster farms. Here, the oysters are large and flavourful - an unusual trait for Atlantic oysters. And the Japanese variety is tender, delicate and irresistible! And of course, you can go for a swim, take a boat trip around the lagoon and, when in season, spot some pink flamingos. Fancy a surfing lesson, fishing, clam harvesting or birdwatching? It's all possible! Just let us know in advance.

Day 2.
Oualidia - Safi - Essaouira.
60 km, 1 hour + 140 km, 2.5 hours

We will stay in Oualidia until lunch to explore the surroundings, achieve all our plans and enjoy our break at the ocean. After having lunch at our favourite fish restaurant, we'll head to Safi, a coastal city with a beautiful authentic medina, a historic fortress and outstanding potters. Feel like making your own vase or tagine? Let's give it a try! After a tour of Safi, we'll head off to watch the sunset in the snow-white city of Essaouira, a favourite of artists and musicians.

Day 3.
Essaouira - Marrakech.

190 km, 2.5 hours

After the very impressive but quiet, non-touristy places, Essaouira dazzles you with its drive, music sounds, and the bright colours of art galleries and souvenir shops. For centuries, this city has been loved by travellers, pirates, explorers, musicians and artists. It's both bustling and fun but also very cosy. Together, we'll climb the fortress walls and visit the royal, Jewish and residential districts of the old town and the harbour. We'll meet the Gnawa musicians and "sorcerers" and learn a thing or two about crafting. You can read more about what we'll be doing in Essaouira here. After having lunch on a terrace with a spectacular view, we'll return to Marrakech. What if you want to stay in Essaouira for a few days to go horseback riding along the ocean, taste all the "grey" wines at the local winery, or go to a cheese factory or a giant nomadic market? It's all possible! We'll reschedule your Marrakech transfer to any day that suits you.

Here We Are
How many days in advance should you book a private tour?
It's advisable to decide on tours you would like to take as early as possible, ideally to book them right after buying your airplane tickets. That way we will make sure we have a guide for you and our meeting will definitely take place :) If you make a last-minute decision to take a tour, do not hesitate to contact us either. We will do our best to arrange a guide for you to show you the country.
Where and when do we meet?
We will definitely agree on it well in advance! Then, two days before the tour date, a reminding email with the name and the phone number of your guide, the exact location of the meeting point and its photo will be sent to you. Please do not miss this letter. Thanks! :)
Can you plan a multi-day program for me?
Sure. We love to plan individual programs more than anything else. In addition to our existing tours, a boat or a yacht trip could be included; a hot air balloon flight, designer shops and art gallery tours, various workshops, tastings, university tours, castle visiting and much, much more. In addition, we adore arranging multi-day bicycle trip programs around the country. Arranging an individual program is a paid service. Let us know your personal wishes and we will do our best to make it happen!
