Tour From Marrakech to The Sahara (3 Days)

For those who want to see the Sahara and the Atlas Mountains but have limited time
PRIVATE TOUR
The Sahara is a different world altogether; here, even time flows differently. Instead, time doesn't exist here at all. Only an endless series of otherworldly landscapes, the smooth sway of a camel beneath you and the breathtakingly beautiful star-filled sky, accompanied by the melodious song of the guide. Here you start seeing things that you don't usually notice in life. You notice their beauty and enjoy every minute of it.

This journey will take us through the Atlas Mountains with their majestic ravines, green oases appearing in the middle of the desert with groves of date palms and gardens. We'll see mud-brick villages which cling to slopes that seem impossible to climb. We'll visit ancient fortresses and have an overnight stay in the desert, and we will even visit "Hollywood". We will learn about nomadic and Berber life and learn the skills of a potter and camel racer, and perhaps we can help with date picking, making tajine or creating a wedding carpet. We will also take lots of pictures, taste a range of local food and solve many mysteries. Trips like these are never forgotten, and sometimes they can be life-changing.

This trip to the Sahara is very popular. But if you can spare an extra day, we highly recommend the four-day route. This will take a little more time. However, you will see, learn and experience so much more.

Day 1.
Marrakech - Tizi-n-Tichka Pass - Zagora - M'Hamid Oasis - Erg chigaga dunes.
500km, 10 hours on the road

We will leave Marrakech at 7 am to catch a breath-taking sunrise amidst the dunes of the Sahara. On the road through the Atlas Mountains and the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, we will enjoy spectacular views, scenic Berber villages and fortresses, and taste many traditional dishes of the local cuisine. We will make stops at the most beautiful places to take pictures. For the leg of our journey, we'll ride on camels in the middle of the desert. A festive dinner awaits us in the camp. You will learn so much about Morocco in one day that you could write a book about it :)

Day 2.
Erg chigaga - Lake Iriki - Antiatlas - "Rally Paris-Dakar" track - Foum Zguid.
300 km, 5.5 hours on the road

After welcoming a magnificent sunrise over the dunes and having breakfast, we will set off across the desert in jeeps. We'll stop at the oasis where the world's tastiest dates grow. We will see the dried-up salt lake Iriki . We'll also encounter marvellous forms of mineral weathering, and we'll see the mountainous landscapes of The Anti-Atlas, the settlements of Sahrawi and visit the Berber villages. We will learn about the traditions, crafts and history of the local people, learn about local cuisine, learn to bake bread or make tajine and try our hand at making pottery or weaving. Here, in our opinion, the most beautiful ceramics and carpets in Morocco are made. We will arrive in Ouarzazate in the evening. Dinner and an overnight stay will be in your booked hotel.

Day 3.
Ouarzazate - Aït-Ben-Haddou - Tizi-n-Tichka Pass - High Atlas - Marrakech.
200 km, 4 hours on the road

We'll start the day with a visit to the world's biggest film studio, Atlas Studios. Episodes of Game of Thrones, Aladdin, Gladiator and many other films were shot here. After a walk among biblical temples, Egyptian pyramids and Tibetan monasteries, we'll visit the grand Berber fortress of Aït-Ben-Haddou. You may even recognise it from many films. We'll visit the local bazaar and lose ourselves in the mysterious alleyways of this remarkable monument of architecture and history. After lunch, we'll travel through the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass and return to Marrakech by 5 pm.
