Your Own Hague.
Behind The Scenes of The Royal City

How the Royal City lives today and what goes on behind the scenes
PRIVATE TOUR
The Hague is a marvelously unique blend of royal history, palace secrets, medieval traditions and legends surrounded by high-rise buildings and futuristic urbanism. This city is multifaceted. You can spend hours walking along medieval streets, admiring the taverns and the guilds of craftsmen. Having armed yourself with a top hat and cane, you can go for a cup of coffee in the first city mall of the Hague - De Passage. You can stroll with your head up high, gazing at the unbelievably beautiful high-rise buildings or go searching for street art and sculptures. You can even visit the other side of the world without leaving the city!

Together, we will take a journey through the ages - from the times of knights, minstrels and beautiful ladies, from what started as a small village, albeit the most aristocratic one in the world, to an influential political capital. We will certainly talk about the history of the royal family as well as the constitutional order, the adventures of a British Queen and Rotterdam's diamonds, we will discuss the marriage of a Russian princess and a Dutch prince and find out how the great Russian poet Pushkin was related to them. We'll understand why one can't take his eyes off the modern architecture of The Hague, but of course, we won't forget about innovation and street art.

Our tour will begin with The Hague's futuristic architecture. We'll find out how, despite its multistory buildings, The Hague remains one of the cosiest cities in the Netherlands. We'll learn about the most interesting buildings - each of them has a funny nickname. We will talk about what distinguishes them from similar buildings in any other city in the world, what the cities of the future will be like, and what surprising things are already hidden behind the facades of The Hague's homes, making them not only sustainable but also particularly comfortable to live in.

We will travel back in time along the avenue of sculptures. We will see a real knight's castle and the most luxurious mansion in The Hague, which housed the famous painting called "Girl with a Pearl Earring". We will solve the mystery of a 180cm-wide house. See where the Dutch Parliament has worked (and still works) for centuries. We might even give the Prime Minister a wave! We will walk to the royal palaces (of which, there are many!) and see where the King works. We can taste some royal croquettes and the delicious pastries of The Hague's most famous baker, located in a place where the future and the past have merged. We will visit the hotel where the first gigolos appeared. We will also see the oldest tavern in The Hague. We'll walk through The Hague Passage and descend into the vault of one of The Hague's oldest banks. And there are so many more exciting things that we will do. Come and join us!
Perhaps, you still have some questions. This is what we get asked about most of the time.
